£250,000 facelift for Watermead Inn
As reproted by Aylesbury Today a QUARTER of a million pounds is being spent on giving the Watermead Inn a facelift in a bid to improve the service it offers to locals.
The only major structural work that is set to take place involves the removal of a wall that runs through the centre of the public area so that it can be given a more open feel.
As well as a 100-seater restaurant there will be al fresco dining on the pier that goes out over the lake and there will be a lounge area for people who just want to go in for a drink.
There will be a no-smoking policy throughout the pub when it reopens on Good Friday on April 6 ahead of the national ban that comes into force on July 1 but there will be external smoking areas with heaters and they will be out of the wind.

I am a watermead resident of 8months and am absolutely delighted with the refurbishment of the Watermead it is fantastic, classy elegant place to have a drink or im sure eat although I havent got round to that yet! Who would have thought you could have a drink on a lake in the middle of Aylesbury with no disturbances.

We have eaten at the new restaurant on the last two Saturdays, the food is excellent and the staff are friendly. We love the new look Watermead Inn and are pleased to have such an attractive and welcoming local restaurant/bar to visit, within a five minute walk. I would thoroughly recommend it
