Horse & Jockey Traffic Lights Switched On

After many months of delays the traffic lights at the Horse and Jockey have been switched on today.

The Council have been quoted as saying ‘We are confident that when the signals are functioning and have settled down the junction will operate satisfactorily and in time, people will accept there is no detriment to junction flows.’

That begs the question ‘How long does it take for them to settle down?’

Do you think the council have got it right or is it going to be gridlock for the forseeable future?

The traffic lights are a joke. At 17:30 today I am queueing up at the HMP roundabout all the way up to these menaces. Arrived at home on Watermead at 17:54. Surely the timing needs to be tweaked or the roundabout needs to come back. Least then everyone gets a fair turn round. It is pretty obvious to see a guy visiting with a laptop each day the control box that they cannot get it right!

I come out of Cromwell Avenue and now I know that I can
definitely get an Exit out to Turn Left when the Traffic lights
change. So it is really helping out to turn left out of the near side of the Cromwell Av. Thanks to the Lights.

i left the a41 last night 26/09 at 6.05pm before the horse and jockey traffic lights came into being i knew i was 10 to 15 mins from home. the traffic jam was down to askeys for the 3rd time this week. at the the roundabout there was grid lock another 15mins before i reached the traffic lights i arrived home at 6.45pm the traffic lights are ineffectual they need removing and the roundabout putting back. if the traffic jams are like this now imagine what it will be like when buckingham park is fully occupied. the people that stand at the junction with there lap tops obviosly do not see the gridlock these traffic lights are causing throughout the area
